The Collection (2012) – Movie Review

The Collection – 2012

First off we watched this movie last night on Netflix, and at first this movie started out with bad acting and a weak story-line. The Collection (2012) after a few minutes into it, started to look like it would be a great gruesome horror, thriller movie. Well as for the affects in the movie, we were impressed, the film makers spared no expense on blood and gore. On the other hand they didn’t spend enough on actors and actresses, or the rest of the story-line. The Collection movie is a mixed concoction of Strangeland (1998) and Saw (2004), it’s as if they took the good ideas of these two movies and combined them into one; without re-mapping the script.

Our Rating: 2.5 stars out of 5

IMDB’s About the film states this – A man who escapes from the vicious grips of the serial killer known as “The Collector” is blackmailed to rescue an innocent girl from the killer’s booby-trapped warehouse.

Yes the about the movie sounds about right. The scenes were highly setup, very nicely put together. Especially the dance scene in the beginning of the movie, by far this movie come up with some really sick ideas for a serial killer to kill people in bulk. But the acting stood out real bad in this film, Emma Fitzpatrick played the best part in the entire film, Shannon Cane should’ve been just an extra until her acting skills gets better. The only reason we continued watching this movie through to the end is because of Charlie Clouser – “Main Titles” – The Collection Soundtrack, be sure to listen to it.
