The Dark Tapes (2017) – Movie Review

Movie Review –

A little over a month ago I received an email with a request for me to check out the film “The Dark Tapes (2017)” directed by Vincent J. Guastini and Michael McQuown, and I’ve finally had the pleasure of doing so. Many may not know it based on a lot of the movies I review but, I love horror films; especially films like this.

Seeing the pure passion that went into the making of this film says everything to me. Now I can say I’ve seen many stories of this type, though this one had its own thing which stood out all the way through it. When I was given access to a screener, Mr. McQuown pitched me a few pointers so I did follow them to get the best feel for the film. I kicked back, put on my headset and hit play in a very dark room; I had a blast!

I’m sure that many reviews will compare this film to all types of named movies on the market to sort of express their feedback, honestly, I cannot compare “The Dark Tapes” to another film and actually give it the justice it deserves. From the moment the film started I noticed the detail and hard work that went into every set for the shoot, and especially the makeup and effects. The cast they used, all of them done an amazing job; I was actually blown away. In all honestly “The Dark Tapes” is a film I look forward to having in my personal DVD collection.

Our Rating based on 1-5 Stars: 4.5 stars
