The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) versus (2011) review

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 2009 review versus the 2011 English version by WoodBangers Entertainment: Description and Review of (Swedish version) The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) featuring Michael Nyqvist, Noomi Rapace, Lena Endre. “A journalist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing — or dead — for forty years by a young female hacker.” Directed by Niels Arden Oplev, the screen play writers were Nikolaj Arcel, Rasmus Heisterberg, and Stieg Larsson. This is part one to the Trilogy or known as The Millennium series! The three parts to the original movie “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) which is often confused with the American ripoff copy of this movie. Why do we feel that the American release of this movie is a ripoff? To answer this in all honesty can start with every good film in the American media was taken from somewhere else or someone else story and made their own. The second reason is simple to say, the American version or English version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo released in 2011 is a mere piece of this movies story. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s original story is based upon 3.5 books which should be 4 books but the fourth book of this was not ever released. The films consist of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (part one and book was released 2005), The Girl Who Played with Fire (part 2, Book released 2006), The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest (part 3 and the book was released 2007). Each of these movies in Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy Series run-time is approximately 3 hours in length, so considering this… In the English or American release of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo where is the other 7.5 hours of the film? Here is the Official Trailer’s of 2009 Swedish releases.

Now here are some details on the 2011 English or American release of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo released in 2011. The description of this film is listed as – Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker. Directed by David Fincher, screen writer is Steven Zaillian, staring Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, and Christopher Plummer. The actual run-time of this movie is 154 minutes according to IMDB. Here is the Official Trailer

We at WoodBangers Entertainment have watched all of these films, and have watched the original version and all of the trilogy many many times. The first time watching The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) Swedish Original movie, we loaded the Trilogy watching all 6 parts to this series back to back none stop. After the first time of watching this series all the way through, we sat and talked about it, got some munchies and started it up again. This is the 9th review and write up we have released on this movie and the differences between this original work of art verses the English downgraded version. Now let’s face it, acting wise Rooney Mara is no Noomi Rapace by far though I’m a fan of them both but this part was played best by Noomi. Noomi Rapace done an amazing job playing the role. We at WoodBangers Entertainment feel that the English version is wrong to have been made, they should’ve just focused on marketing an already greatly made movie in the United States versus steeling the idea and slowly trying to cover the tracks across the internet that it is a remake. Also note Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and Atticus Ross helped with the music or soundtrack with the original versions. Check out this track titled What If We Could?
