The Hunger Games (2012) – Movie Review

The Hunger Games – Movie Review

The Hunger Games – 2012 movie directed by: Gary Ross was outstanding! We at WoodBangers loved this movie! We have probably watched The Hunger Games 30 to 40 times since it’s release, and not once have been tired of watching it.

The IMDB Description of The Hunger Games – 2012 is – “Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister’s place in the Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to compete.” Honestly that description just doesn’t say enough! You’ll find yourself on the edge of your seat waiting to see how Katniss is going to get through each moment.

Our Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Now yes this movie has it’s typical storyline and the acting is quite fair. Some of the actors and actresses maybe should’ve been replaced by someone else, but all in all the movie and it’s affects were great. Now in the beginning when Katniss is brought to The Hunger Games the green screen was horribly done! If you can get past this point (which is hard), the movie is awesome. After watching The Hunger Games for the first time at the end all we could say is “Maybe part 2?”. Yes would be the obvious answer since the movie is based on a series of books by Suzanne Collins, but will the movies be that good? Part 1 was, and now we have The Hunger Games: Catching Fire coming out in November 2013. We so look forward to it. If you haven’t watched The Hunger Games do so! And get ready to check out The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 2013.

IMDB Description of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire or known as part 2 is – Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem. Will it be as good as the first or better?
